The announcement of Disney allowing for more inclusion within their empire had finally provided the voice robbed from many of us. At the very same moment, that is a troubling thought. To assume we must strive for proper representation of minorities as the majority relishes in the indulgence of a plentiful selection of Disney princes. We must recognize there is much needed improvement. To matter is the absolute minimum. Our minorities are worthy. Our minorities are beloved. Our minorities must be celebrated. A very damning chain of subjects include the ill fit of a non-asian / asian / american director when few opportunities are granted to them was disappointing. Supporting an actress and gifting the integral role of Mulan as she motivates her politics to endorse violence is unacceptable. It is unfair to be filled with an ill settling, understanding this film's outcome affects future films similar to Mulan's story. We only ask for proper representation, fundamental rights to respect, and the opportunities to honor our roots through the eyes of us (actual Asians / Pacific Islanders / Asian Americans). It would be very much so an unforgettable and historically breaking accomplishment for us. This was unforgettable but entirely for the wrong reasons. Please make better choices next time.
