Ea Sports NHL 21 has to be of the worst NHL games I’ve ever played since NHL 15. I’ve been playing NHL games since NHL 09 since then till now I’ve never seen a horrible game till NHL 21. The problem with the game is that the mechanics have been the exact same thing from 15-21 since the games came on PS4 and Xbox One why should people spend 79.99$ when this game is not even programmed properly. One thing that has pissed me and others are the goals scored why bother even trying to defence when the one timers go in 95% of the time no matter how good you are at defence in this game the pass SOMEHOW still goes 100% accurate to the players stick and into the back of the net. Another problem I have is why do I bother to poke check when I know I’m just gonna get an automatic tripping penalty even when I hit the puck and they need to fix that penalty shot glitch goal where you hold it on your backhand and shoot it from the circle every time goes in every time. Another game mode that disappointed me this year was the new be a pro yes it was cool to see the new conversations but the cpu are just absolutely brain dead the cpu literally puts you offside every time in the neutral zone they do a dumb deke right in front of the blue line which makes you offside almost every time. Theres many other things missing in this game from previous games wheres gm connected where’s the winter classic and a few other things. I’ve been very disappointed with the puck and body checking mechanics I’ll try to pass to an open player and it won’t even go to him it’ll be icing if I pass it or it’ll go behind me such a joke and the hitting oh my god I’ll have the biggest player on the ice and I’ll be the one getting bodied on the ice it’s no fun and the goalies are just brain dead in this game to the puck will be sitting 2 feet in front of them and they just stare at it while in the butterfly position doesn’t cover it just watches it which causes a goal. One last thing that’s pissing me off the last few years is the power play programming it’s an absolute joke the cpu on your team all just sit at the point and don’t move around to try and make a basic hockey play it’s so frustrating because they don’t forecheck at all. This game should not be worth 80 bucks from the poor effort by EA I hope for NHL 22 they actually put effort into the broken things in the game and make it actually work for once. EA should be embarrassed for how they made this game. I would give zero stars if I could.
