After many attempts, Bollywood finally gets the formula to narrate a biopic right. They finally realized that biopics aren't about complex plot devices; it's the most basic things:
1) A simple plot
2) Linear Narration
3) Rooted Origin Story
4) Water-tight screenplay
5) One major climactic event
3) One passionate leading actor
5) Impassionate and precise editing

'Manikarnika' takes its time to establish the character of the legendary queen. She is shown as a brave, yet initially tactless girl who grew from each setback to become the fierce warrior she is known as.
.
The action set pieces are rousing in their execution, and Kangana, who initally comes across as someone trying a little too hard, finally nails the role in the second half.
.
This movie, in many ways, is the anti-Zero. In that movie, the first half was beautifully made, second half was unbearable. Here, the first part may try your patience in some scenes, but it all builds up to an unforgettable crescendo.
.
There is a lesson to be learnt here. When it comes to movies about such characters, the need of the script is passionate actors, not skilled ones. This character need not be approached the way Kangana plays it, but there is no other way that my mind can currently suggest, which makes justice to such an influential personality.

A definite Must Watch from me!
