Coming over from 2500+hrs of gameplay in the Total War series, Civ 6 was the first Civ game I've played. The learning curve was steep.. the tutorial isn't completely lacking but there is a lot of ground to try to cover. I ended up watching a 6 part series (3.5 hours long) of a tutorial on YouTube, which explained a lot, in depth. You could argue that it shouldn't require a 3.5 hour video series to explain how to play the game, but for me that just showed the depth of the game.
A strategy game that requires planning and thinking several steps ahead. Total War is a pretty slow moving series, imo, but Civ 6 is even slower. Through about the first half of the game most of your units can only move 1-2 hexes. This gets to be a bit boring as you'll spend many turns (equivalent to hundreds of game years, not sure how that makes sense???) simply to move a unit from one side of your empire to the other.
I couldn't imagine playing this game on anything other than PC. Some games don't translate well to console - I imagine this to be one of them.
Gave a 3/5 simply because the lack of movement with units. Feels VERY constrained. If there was a way to open up the freedom of movement I'd immediately give it 5/5
