The film “A Better Life” tells a story of a single Mexican parent trying to give his son the best life he possibly can. His son is 14 and is in the point in his life where he is unsure about a lot and is struggling with his true identity. We see him and his father progressively bond more throughout the film, and then all of the sudden we see it all taken away from them. The father attempted to make a better life for his son but that backfired when he got arrested and processed for deportation. It’s a heartbreaking film as we see a child separated from his only parent. The final scene was very emotional and left me in tears. I highly recommend the film; you’re in for a rollercoaster of emotions. #CENS201

Born in Syria is a heartbreaking documentary. This documentary is shown in the point of view of children that vary from all ages and their journey in seeking asylum. These children were forced to flee their country in 2011, and the viewers follow their journey and all their struggles trying to seek asylum in Western Europe. The children undergo a lot of distress which is shown in the documentary. It is truly a heart aching film, but I think everyone should take the time to watch. #CENS201
