This movie was based on a totally unique and crazy premise (It has a chase scene with a town and a city)... yet it manages to be a total off the shelf rewrite of any Star Wars or Marvel based movie. There are no risks or chances taken in this portrayal of young love overcoming evil. The assumption would be it bombed because the premise is silly. I hope it bombed because people are just tired of the same story with a different coat of paint. The effects and world building make it worth while to watch... just ignore the story and characters while you do.

I can honestly say I felt a lot of the same things I did when I first played Half Life for the first time back in the day. Compared to other games Half Life felt different and it seemed like PC Gaming was never going to be the same now. Half Life Alex is like that. Yes it is a rail driven shooter... does not feel open world... but the level of care and detail is off the charts. It's been a while since I have wanted to just sit and look at graphics for graphics sake. Video card innovations have become less dramatic over the years... it's more about frame rates now. HLA changes that. I sat admiring a health station.. not wanting to use it because it looked so cool. I am also running at minimum settings with warnings I am out of video memory. I have an i7 3770 12gb ram and a 1060 6gb. I wireless stream to a oculus quest 2 with a 5g router. It runs with occasional stuttering. I tried with the acer mixed reality and it was nearly unplayable.
