A breath of fresh air, Phoenix delivers a beautiful performance with the role that he was graced with. Such a dark realistic presentation of society's treatment to those who are viewed less than others, the film touches on many factors that can lead to the creation of a character like the Joker. It did not shy away from the realism nor did it feel predictable the closer we got to the ending. While I would love to see a sequel one day, this film works well as a stand-alone. I would be content with either decision they (and Phoenix) decides to make regarding the future of this DC dark universe. I thank Phoenix, Todd Phillips, Hildur Guðnadóttir, and everyone else who played a part in creating such a masterpiece. Thank you all again for the pleasant experience~

While it is superior to The Last Jedi, the pacing and overall structure, as well as unanswered questions, leaves a dissatisfying taste in my mouth. There's too much that could have been done in the Last Jedi to better set this movie up but Disney's poor planning and allowing The Last Jedi to go the way it did screw JJ Abrams who came back after directing The Force Awakens. It's more disappointing to fans like me rather than triggering and angering us like the Last Jedi did. It's a shame that this is canon and what it has done to the legacy of the original trilogy and ignoring continuity consistency. That's not to say that there's nothing good about this movie, as it does have its moments and I did enjoy it enough times to be sadden that the issues that it has, overshadows everything that I want to enjoy about this film.
