I have become jaded about the recent trilogy, but the Mandolorian is without question the newest gem of the Star Wars universe. I was skeptical at first. But by the end of the third episode I was thoroughly won over. Many compare this show to gunslinging westerns, or even Firefly. But the show is not defined just by those influences. It has a riveting theme of its own that is firmly rooted in Star Wars mythos while at the same time totally accessible and enjoyable by folks who are not really Star Wars fans. Pedro Pasquel's acting is riveting, even though he plays Mando through the filter of his helmet, armour, and taciturn ways. The ash his relationship builds with another major character despite the lack of a traditional dialogue based relationship building between the characters.
Along with Rogue One, this show is my favorite new addition to the Star Wars saga. Well worth it.
