The ending of this film was appalling to me--the fact that the two teens who made the bomb and caused all the trouble got away with everything and were not taken into custody and punished for what they did. What was going on in the mind of the producer when he made this film and what message does it give to the public? That people can take irresponsible actions that can potentially cause substantive harm-- and all that happens is that they are allowed to get away with it? Similar films noir and crime dramas have been made and in every one of them the people responsible for the criminal acts are punished by the law. The ending absolutely disgusted me despite the well acted dramatic engagement until the end.

Heartwarming, unconventional story that was beautifully crafted and beautifully acted.

This film is brutally filthy, disgusting and personally extremely offensive to me as a Jewish person. It made me feel ashamed of my culture. I cannot understand how a film like this could ever have been made, nor do I understand why anyone would have put up funds to produce it.

I just read the review of "God's Own Country" which called it atypical of gay films because it has a positive rather than a tragic ending. It may be a little bit atypical in this way, but not entirely. The American film "Trick" achieved the same end-- and in a much more positive spirited and uplifting way than "God's Own Country". Unlike so many gay films, "Trick" presented no internal conflicts and no discomfort at all in either of the gay protagonists with their gay identity. Trick" is a true classic American romantic comedy--one that treats gay love as no different from straight love.
