This is arguably the best spy/intrigue tv series there is. At times, the storyline drifts a bit, and other times the character maintenance gets a little sloppy. At the same time, I was entirely spellbound by a series that treads such a current, deep and vital scene of the world can be this intense, this well-conceived and executed, and this tirelessly inspiring! This TV series shows how reality and arts can be married in such harmonious unison, and you'd have to give the French artists the highest reverence for their determination not to rush and not to resort to gimmicks. I hope it'd be transitioning to the next season with the same vigor and thoughtfulness as the original creator is passing the torch.
I must add that the plots are so realistic in light of what has happened in Iran/the Middle East lately, and the French have done a great job portraying the intricate web of spies and plotters. The relationship among "the Western allies," i.e., the CIA, Mossad and the Bureau, etc. are just breathtakingly realistic and,, henceforth, nerve-racking.
