This movie is pretty good. One of the creepiest (of the few I've seen) horror movies. The story is about a kid who gets kidnapped by a mysterious man and talks to his previous victims through the titular black phone to escape. The room our protagonist finds himself locked in has a really claustrophobic feeling to it, like It really didn't look like a pleasant place to be trapped in. The movie really had a mysterious vibe to it, especially in the middle part. It was a lot more interesting than I expected, and it didn't waste much, if any of my time with any long, tedious, pointless scenes, (which is something that has turned me off of a lot of tv shows and movies.) It ran at a good pace, and although it had a pretty small cast, the two characters it revolved around were pretty well done, with good actors and fine writing. It was pretty cool to see the protagonist develop courage by talking with the previous victims (Spoiler, one of which was his former friend who helped him get by bullies) and learning more secrets about the bad-guys house, as he becomes strong enough to face the bad guy. The antagonist is a pretty old school type of "masked killer", but he's unique enough (at least compared to what I've seen) to set himself apart from Jason Vorhees, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Ghostface, and a bunch of other horror bad guys to be his own type of villain. He's really creepy, and that's exactly what a horror villain should be. Overall, I think I've said everything I can about this movie. It's pretty well done with an interesting, well executed premise, a creepy villain, good acting and one creepy, mysterious atmosphere. I'd say it's worth watching, even if you're not a horror movie fan.
