I wasn’t sure if I’d like this, but I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised! The actors are pretty good and the storyline is compelling and captivating!! It does divert some from the original storyline, but at the same time keeps the important details true to the cartoon. The changes actually add more to the show and give it a more young adult appeal. It’s supposed to be an adaptation, not a remake, so it makes sense that they made some changes. This is definitely a darker version aimed for more mature audiences, and it is rated MA, for mature audiences. People who are getting upset because it’s not suitable for kids should really just have paid attention to the big MA in the corner of the screen. I also want to point out that the ORIGINAL series creator is the executive producer for the live actions series. Italian animator and former comic book author, Iginio Straffi, PERSONALLY took on the role of executive producer so that his new vision would become reality. All of the decisions made within the show he would have agreed with before releasing this newer series. So, the series was intentionally made to be darker and twisted, and NOT for young kids. Definitely worth watching if you like these kinds of TV shows.
