I'm giving 2 stars because I quite liked the first half. But the second half took a nose dive in quality and cohesiveness. The movie was trying to do too much and would have definitely served better as two separate movies instead of a conglomeration of what feels like two different plots thinly stitched together. The first half could have been a phenomenal thriller/slasher film and the second half could have been a great campy comedy horror flick but the two together just didn't mesh well. Shocked is an understatement when I saw the positive reviews because I wouldn't rewatch this even if I was paid. I'm sad thinking about what this movie could have been, so much potential but oh well.

Scenery was gorgeous but sadly that's the best part of this movie. It felt like the 'action' in this movie was portrayed in glimpses rather than flushed out and explained. In a movie, I don't expect all the answers to be given to me, but I would like a story line to contain some sort of substance and solid foundation. The plot felt like it was being teased to me, showing me beginnings but never endings. The movie put the mere idea of the plot out there, but didn't really follow through with it.

The biggest complaint I've seen from other reviewers is "there's so many questions!" But if you actually use your brain and realize that things are left up to interpretation and stop expecting everything to be spoon fed to you, the movie is actually half decent. Yes there are open ended questions but I think that's the beauty of movies like this, you can come to your own conclusion. My biggest issue with this movie happens to be that it starts off really well, but plateaus pretty quickly. Not much happens to really progress the story or add much to it until the very end. It hits a spot and it kind of just stays there. I would have loved to see more of an arcing storyline with more action than what it presented. The overall concept of this movie is pretty cool and definitely explores a sub-genre of horror that isn't touched too often. I would like to have seen more from it but it was decent for what it was
