I wondered, because of the cast, if it would be a sleeper.
This movie tries to advance comedy without men except in a very narrow, shallow but pronounced way. A blatant feminist inversion of tropes if you think about it.
Reading quite a few reviews, the "lesbian 4th of July Party" never gets mentioned in any way shape or form leaves me wondering about the state of reviews and reviewers these days. In fact, I wonder if google will slip my review under the radar or flag it.
2 stars because the cast. 2 stars because it fails almost completely to get even a giggle out of their acting or skills but people will most certainly find something to reminisce (about the casts' previous performances) about. But it couldn't even make budget domestically.
In the end, it was a sleeper but for the wrong reasons. Sad, really.
