At least in dark souls there was always a feeling of forward progression. I wanted an armored core game, not a dark souls variant. If that's your thing then Might enjoy this game. Though I do think the multiple times when the missiles hovered in mid-air for three seconds while hugging a corner of a building before locking on, then moving my way and still somehow hitting me is glitchy garbage. The length of time you could spend in the air is so limited. The first boss is all about closing the distance which they give you very limited movement in which to do so. Can't really use buildings as cover. Missiles that somehow only blow up when touching your AC and not buildings. How is that a tutorial? If you're trying to make money why place this gigantic barrier of entry? I feel like I only got past because somehow I died enough times it let me fight the real version. It did not feel like any sort of real victory. Personally the only reason I purchased this game is because Devs went out of the way to say that it wasn't. I wanted a fun Mech game, not another dark souls. Where I have to learn patterns and fight the same bosses 50 times. Or simply the game functions properly finally and not glitchy out. It kills all the enjoyment for me and makes it take soo much longer than it needs to. Just makes it seem like they're just trying to pad out their player time. I don't want another job, I want a fun. To each their own but I hate banging my head against the wall for hour. I'm a combat veteran; I want to throw something on, escape and enjoy myself. This is a game where you have to invest time and learn patterns, only in regards to the bosses though. Every other enemy in this game you can just do whatever. It's not even consistent in its difficulty. I am not a fan of its controls, especially in the beginning. This absolutely could have been a fantastic game. If they would have focused on player enjoyment. They were clearly catering to the dark souls crowd while saying they weren't. Granted the story was just absolute garbage but it's a mech combat game, so it wasn't exactly expecting Shakespeare. Definitely feel like I wasted $60.
