This 1992’s movie by George Miller was indeed an eye opener. We cry in our daily lives for the things that we don’t have, ignoring the fact that we humans are way too privileged. There are so many people around us who have greater sufferings and challenges. This movie teaches us the art of resilience. It talks about miracles, science, love, and faith.
It made me realize that humans are way too powerful and if we are determined to achieve something, we can shake the world. Someone rightly said that “Necessity is the Mother of Invention.” Augusto and Michaela Odone haunted libraries, talked to the parents of the sick children, worked days and night to find a treatment to cure Lorenzo of ALD, a fatal nerve disease. The movie beautifully shows the selfless love of parents. Not only this it also projects the responsibility each one of us share being part of the community. They worked relentlessly not only to get their child out of the agony but also all the children who were suffering from the same disease.
The pragmatic approach used to find a cure shows the power of science and education.
Life follows a logical patter and we humans are chosen to decipher this query.
While watching this movie a beautiful quote from the book Alchemist struck the doors of my mind again and again, “When you want something, the whole universe conspires you to achieve it”. This movie has touched all the aspects of life, philosophical, logical, scientific and human emotions. The parents in the movie didn’t lose hopes and no one in the world could shake their believes and motives.
In the movie, the role of the boy was capturing. The patience, the will power and faith with which he dealt his problem was appreciable.
This was a vivid experience to help us come out of our wells and to give us insights into things happening around the world.
