Book 2 was not as good. Felt like the author was in a hurry to finish up the story from the start of the second book and just threw it together (Odd choices were made in the story and by characters. Intelligent characters made retarded choices not in line with how they normally act. Godlike powers were handed out like condoms at health centers.). Was dissapointed.

Book 1 was good; really enjoyed.

Book 3 I just started. I bought book 2-3 before reading book 2, unfortunately. Since it cost me around 45 bucks I guess I should try it. After book 2 tho I am not eager about it.

The Hobbit was 3 movies long which is ridiculous being the book so short. The movies were horrible. Well, I actually could only stand to put myself through the torture of the first....but I assume from clips 2 and 3 were none the better. The Lord of the Rings on the other hand were great...all 3 movies.
Peter Jackson,had I met him after seeing The Lord of the Rings movies I woulda shook his hand.
After seeing The Hobbit I would have punched him in the mouth.
If you want to see The Hobbit then go with the 1977 cartoon/movie version and skip the big ole turd Peter Jackson made.
