The film revolves around the protagonist who identifies himself as the maternal Uncle of Sudhidra Bose's wife and apparantly is visiting India after 35 years. Further the story holds a quit nice grip as Sudhindra is suspicous of this 'so-called' uncle. Utpal Dutt is at his best as the 'Uncle'. Well written dailogues which contained deep meaning simply adds to the beauty of the film. The best scene in the film is, when Sudhindra and his wife are having a conversation in the darkness of the bedroom and the camera moves according to the character speaks which is shooting with a single take. This kind of scene can only be pulled off by the genuis Satyajit Ray.
