Hmm what to say.... I know how things work in Canada for foreign trained doctors: they simply don't get accepted to the profession except under special circumstances, depending on the country they come from.
Unfortunately most foreign trained doctors work as cabbies or in restaurants despite Canada needing a lot more doctors (and nurses) in order to serve the population adequately.
That said, the movie's premise is good though could never be applied to Canada. Maybe to the US or some other country.
Yes we have free medical care for all, but no, we can't always get it due to shortages of medical staff and overcrowded facilities. And no, it's not possible to just set up shop and dispense actual medical services and drugs, not even for free. Quite impossible. Medical advice maybe, at most.
The storyline, such as it is, must have been developed by somebody totally unfamiliar with the reality in Canada as regards the medical field. Too bad, it could have been woven differently to truly depict the hardships and obstacles foreign trained doctors face here and what if any solutions may be found.
