Not a good plot. Stories based on actual facts like this one are usually dull and not interesting. The battle scenes were cool and I’m sure difficult to put together but the whole movie just kind of drags along with the main plot the dysfunctional relationship between Napoleon and his wife who can’t conceive. Acting was good. I like Ridley Scott movies but this is not one of them.

Why in the hell did I think the 90% approval by rotten tomatoes means anything and why did 70% say they liked it? This was by far the darkest, slowest moving, non entertaining, and dumbest plot line in a movie I have ever seen in my life and I’m 67 years old. I left the theater at the halfway point. I felt I was completely wasting my life away if I stayed a minute longer. I should have read the real reviews by the people before I spent my money. A 1.7 overall is way too high.
