I wanted to give the show a chance and I did watch few episodes but some jokes were really inappropriate and weird when delivered by the kids. I get it’s supposed to be for the “conservative audience, mainly in America” but it’s an all white characters cast, where they all seem straight. Which don’t get me wrong, it happens, but it felt pushy and when I thought about why it’s probably because the jokes weren’t really there to lead the show. What could have had a great potential just didn’t land well. The storyline is sweet and appealing and I could even get over the complete lack of diversity (for a one time watch when I’m bored) but those lines from the kids characters and an awkwardness with acting is what made me feel icky and disappointed. The best character is the the older daughter Cassidy and to be honest she saves every scene and episode. They could have made one of the kids a part of the lgbtqia+ in a non stereotypical way at least and I’d be more convinced. Music is great cause they all can sing and McPhee can of course however she’s a slightly controversial person to cast... but I guess it is a show made for a specific audience.
