I love this movie. I always show it to my students to set up our study of Brave New World, since much of the Dome City's social structure employs similarities to the World State in BNW. I met Michael York at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival while waiting in line for coffee and talked with him about the movie.

I first saw this move when it was released in the '70's and was blown away (especially since I had just done some hash). The production takes you into the world of the fantastic planet with ease, making that world seem as real as the world on which we live. As a recent article declared, the film ages well, even after over 40 years, due most admirably to the originality of the production design and to the universal nature of the storyline. Fans of early animation will especially enjoy the style of the production . . .
