I am a Western Canadian, a father, a grandfather and a long-time hockey player – and, yes, I am white and like the very many hockey players in Canada – did not come from a privileged social stratum. Perhaps Ms. Allen attended more elite universities than many of the rest of us in the hinterland.
Our late Grandfather served in the Great War while my late father and uncle were with the RCAF in the Second World War – in both instances’ family members were in active combat which included two wounding’s, one injury and two hospitalizations. My wife is the namesake for an aunt who served with the RCAF and was killed at the end of the war.
The red Poppy means something very special and personal to many of us.
To have a misandrist and so-called comedian from self-centered Toronto pontificate on something other than the next new eye-shadow or is your cat getting enough attention – is offensive.
An audience rating of 1.5 of out of 5 best sums up the value of CTV’s “The Social”.
