Next Generation is my favorite Star Trek series and First Contact was the most inspiring of the Star Trek movies. In fact, it set the stage for Star Trek Picard because he and Data were the only two of the "Enterprise" crew to have become Borg. That experience of having lived in a Borg body, along with the shared experience with an android commander that he so admired because of his humanity, drove his desire at the end of Star Trek Picard series 1 (when he was physically dying) to take on an android body. Picard is an explorer in the true sense and I think First Contact was the cathartic moment for his later decision to become an android and support their cause.
