Seen the film today. To me Maggie Smith is Downton Abby. she is in a class of her own.
Her delivery coupled with her facial expression are what drew me into the series.
Her expressions remind me of my sister and her witt my grand mother both ladies have past on.
But as an example I can remember my mother telling me when she was courting, my dad had done something to displease my grandmother. Who said to him "you might think your the Lord of the manner but you haven't got the manners of a lord."
Maggie portrail reminds me of them.
But to be honest all of the cast are to be congratulated for there ability to transport the viewer to those bygone years where for a moment they make you feel that your are there taking part with them.
Downton Abby is a great way to spend a few hours being wash away from the hurly burly of today's world by the craftsmanship of some very fine actors and actresses combined with the skill of the film making crew.
I hope to see many more, and thank all of them for the entertainment.
