Meena Kumari and most of the artists inthis movie didn't act. They just entered into their characters with such efforts that everything looked natural . If one watches the movie after reading the novel (Bimal Mitra ) must feel that chhoti Bahu has come out from the pages of the novel to the screen. The sets ,the costumes, ornaments of that period ! Marvellous. Salute to Guru Dutt. v k Murthy the art director and all the technicians and above all Abrar Alvi(the controversial director of the movie)
