I am a gear head, and I really like this show mainly because of the way they complete projects started by ordinary people. The thing I like the best is they do not do frame off resto's, they complete the projects as if the owner would have done it, if they had the resources and knowledge. Very little is done to the underside of the vehicles and they keep and use original parts when possible. They always look for safety upgrades vs original equipment kept that is unsafe.
