I remember this show fondly from the 1980s and have recently rediscovered it on YouTube. Thank you, Sylvester, for posting these episodes. I also recently discovered the Rizzoli and Isles female detective series, courtesy of my public library and late-night network TV. IMDB reviewers rate R&I higher but I don't agree.
I love the authenticity of the 1980s shows, including "Lou Grant," as well as "ER" in the 1990s, up until Season 6, IMO. The new shows just don't resonate with me. I dislike the earthy language; let's face, it, vulgar -- and the posturing and stylized behavior. Give me honesty, sincerity and authenticity any day. "Cagney and Lacey" had it spades thanks to excellence on all fronts: writing, acting and directing.
