Future Gohan

Just watched this movie and man. It breaks that silly video game curse majorly. As someone who knows nothing of the Detective Pikachu 3DS game I was largely surprised by how fun this movie was. And I absolutely welcome whatever the Pokemon Company has next! And yes, I love the Pokemon franchise. And while I was initially unhappy with Charizard's design, it's grown on me. The designs can be weird or creepy at times but that's the point, Pokemon aren't natural so of course they will look weird or creepy (Mr Mime for example). Basically they nailed real life Pokemon. I can wholeheartedly agree with a lot of people who have reviewed this movie. There are little nods for true Pokemon fans but this movie does well at introducing Pokemon to a larger audience. And Ryan Reynolds is clearly 99% of the reason this movie works so well. I don't think I can ever truly give ANY movie a 5/5 even Endgame which is my all time favourite. But Detective Pikachu deserves a sequel and then some.
