I hated this movie more than I hated the Emoji Movie.
1. The SCRIPT: All the actors in this are fairly talented actors. What I hate is the dialogue and chemistry between said characters.
2. The children in this movie hold it back so much. They serve no narrative importance, spending 100% of their time on screen crying. That's it.
3. The twist fails to do its job: it doesn't leave an emotional impact at all, and it serves no narrative importance. It feels super forced, and even if it did work, all it would do is dehumanize the protagonists.
4. The soundtrack is so basic. I can't remember a single track from this movie.
5. I feel like there are so many useless scenes packed into this movie. It's so boring.
All in all, I believe this movie is overrated, even with the terrible reviews it already has. Just because the movie has a unique concept does not mean it is good. It was so poorly executed I could barely finish it. The production and distribution of movies like this should be considered a sin.
