If you were amongst the thousands of players hoping for a brand new experience to the Call of Duty Franchise well you might want to save those extra bucks on something else.
Call of Duty Cold War has been highly anticipated but shows a lack of features and no real aim at multiplayer to give gamers a good outlook of the game. Positively enough the campaign was marvelous. In fact it's the only reason you'd opt to getting the game, however when we look at multiplayer you might be extremely disappointed.
To start off the game has minimal to no optimization for PC. The graphics are there but the lack of actual steadiness and computing for keyboards as well as for controllers are not there.
Something that will raise question is the new play style for the game. Activision has brought back the simple layout ripped out of the original Black Ops games which is quite nice and convenient as it allows players to work with easy input controls instead of all that overkill hub we usually get in Modern Warfare and previous titles. IT can be a smooth play to things that is if it had a good weapons system and aim response.
Weapons are nice and bringing back guns such as the MP5, AK-74u, and the infamous XM4 or AKA. "Commando" is a great way to start off the launch of the game. What brings in flaws is the lack of accuracy and aim response times. While trying to aim down sights it can be extremely painful to watch as your gun sprays bullets and your accuracy is all over the place. Even with attachments it poses no help for the player to correctively get hit markers. It's more frustrating than you can imagine.
IF we talk about aim response (the time it takes for your weapon to go from hip fire to ADS (aim down sight) it shows how much effort was put into the development of the game. Getting a kill is almost impossible with the new way weapons focus on the target. Aim Assist has no value in helping you out there. As a matter of fact it runs poorly on all platforms. So if you're the previous gamer that usually goes 30-1 in a match prepare to go 1-30 in Cold War.
Maps are limited and repetitive. Nuketown still comes out year after year. It's a map that's become very popular in the franchise but it's time to nuke it out of the game, FOR GOOD. Nuketown actually looks more like the zombie version of the map and with so many dark shadows and overlapping objects it's difficult to tell who's who or how to get around. Even Raid is so poorly optimized that players have found bugs within the map.
With a franchise so popular amongst the gaming community it has become a sheer disappointment for Veterans AND Beginners of all levels. Don't waste your money on this game, instead buy another, one preferably with good optimization and ACTUAL development.
