I love the notebook and had never actually seen this movie until I finally caved and watched it last night. I thought this movie was pretty boring. It doesn’t have the rewatchability I was hoping for. I didn’t cry at all at the end which I was surprised about, seeing as how I’m a lightweight. With the exception of the two protagonists, the characters were completely disposable and replaceable. So boring and their acting was atrocious. I agree with the critics review of the movie and as they said, this movie is BLAND. I don’t regret watching it because it’s a cute little story but it was in no way close to perfect. Also the story wasn’t believable. The main guy really doesn’t like Mandy Moore and all of a sudden when she wears makeup and sings he falls in love with her that night. There was no build up to their relationship. He’s embarrassed to be seen with her and literally the next day he’s in love with her? I Love romantic films so I hope I don’t come off as cynical, but this movie didn’t have the write script, direction and actors for that matter. I’m convinced most of the women who gave this movie a 5 star review are either 12 or watched this movie when they were 12 and still hold it in a high regard. Sorry not a huge fan
