This is an edited review. I wrote a long one but i decided the best, most efficient way to describe this movie and get my point across to you is this: This is a pointless movie. You're better off watching Russell Crowe's Gladiator 3 times in a row than waste your time on this disaster.

Imagine watching an excellent, award-winning gangster movie with a stellar cast, exceptional acting and most importantly, really solid writing....and now multiply that into a number of episodes and you'll get The Penguin. This show is only 2 episodes in but it is by far this year's best thing on television in my opinion. I'm tired of the Disney formula where there must always be a joke around every corner..it's a nice welcome to have a mature show in spite of the fact that it's based off a comic character. In fact, it's good enough as a standalone.

I genuinely cannot remember the last time i watched something this bad...i have nothing to compare it to. Nothing makes sense, the acting was atrocious...everything about it screams "straight to trash" Everyone else that gave it 1-star have said what i wanted to say about this movie but i thought i should contribute one more 1-star because i think this movie can never get enough 1-star review.

This movie would fit right into the 80's/90's action-film genre perfectly. It doesn't pretend to be cerebral, it has the right amount of action and Jason Statham has proven once again that he is this era's Bruce Willis. I enjoyed it.

I watched this for the 2nd time, almost 20 years from the first time i did. And it still hit me as hard. I figured with the passing of time, with wisdom and maturity, that I'd be able to be critical of the film i watched as a young 25 year old. Boy, was i wrong. Such is the beauty of great storytelling and the perfect cast...it transcends time. Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet put in the performance of a lifetime and I'll forever remember them as the ones that made this film the masterpiece that it is. There's no unnecessary cussing, no reliance on skin...just good drama and steller acting. Modern films should take a leaf out of this movie and put more effort into a solid storyline.

I belong to the few who feel that it could, and should have been better. I really wanted to enjoy the show but I went away with that itching feeling that there were some pretty lazy storywriting and that they were banking on hype, amazing effects and pace to cover those parts. It's not a bad film per se, but I wouldn't rank Endgame as highly as most of MCU's movies. In fact, in terms of storytelling, I found Shazam to be more enjoyable. But then Shazam didn't have the weight of expectations of a decade-long build-up on it's shoulders.

Think "The Fifth Element". Now divide by ten = This film. Definitely not one of Luc Besson's finer films.

Aquaman. They tried to do it in the same vein as Thor...and they failed. Spectacularly. The first 20 minutes already hinted heavily on just how bad the remainder of the movie was going to get...and bad it got. The storytelling bordered on haphazard and quite frankly, lazy, and the acting poor. It's almost as if WB tried to literally translate the cartoon versions of their superhero shows onto live-action movie. Even some of the special-effects scenes were bad, relying too much on bright colours to mask and paper over the laughable effects. One hour into the show and it got me wishing some villain to just show up and kill aquaman. Yeah, it was THAT bad. I can only imagine that only very young audiences would truly enjoy this show...the very same ones that when they grow older and watch reruns of it, will go "man...i didn't remember it being THIS bad!" This movie convinced me without doubt, that WB just wanted to make a quick buck, without bothering to even tell a decent story. They ought to just stick to animation when it comes to the superhero business. Even Netflix knows how to do superheroes stories...just watch Daredevil and the Punisher. Now, THOSE were done right. It's a shame...Aquaman was, to me, their final shot at redemption after the embarrassment of Supes and Bats and the League, and now the DC universe might never recover from this.

The only good thing about this movie is the stunning visual effects. Everything else about it is a disappointment. It's a shame, considering the hype surrounding it and the people involved in it.

Season 3 is the best one yet, with enough balance between predictability amd the unexpected. It's ironic that the 2 shows i rate as the best of 2018 are Travelers and 12 Monkeys...both about time travel, both about changing the past and both just as good. Must watch!
