Jerico Sungahid

I cannot think much of actors other than Tom Hanks for the lead role. He is very credible, exuding maturity, leadership, and kind of fatherly-figure to his crew who are facing imminent death from an enemy they can hardly see, much more, very cunning and methodical, that are the German U-boats. Puts the audience at the edge of his seat as they realistically dodge torpedoes and still look after the convoy which are sitting ducks in the true- to-life events that happened in those supplies crossings without air protection.

I can never imagine any other actor doing the lead role other than Benicio. Something in him, the charisma, dry-sense of humor and witty subtle sarcasm made this dark background, atrocious treatment of humanity against its own kind of film, seem to be light and the weird thing, a bit frustrating and funny.

Very convincing film and acting of Eastwood. Though I have a dvd copy from a while back, I never planned on watching it until now 2020. Good thing I gave it a chance and was I so happy I did! It made my day!
