This franchise originally inspired my pursuit in science fiction film. To see the writing and acting become so sloppy and miss the mark was unfortunate. What made the trilogy was the passionate team effort of all cast members, it appears the writers/director forgot about this and laid all emphasis on a "couple" of people. This film appears to fall prey to the nuanced cliches of modern... "film" instead of what it accomplished back in 1999.
