The press might wonder why the term fake news has become popular or why they are no longer trusted. Last night was a perfect example. There was a story about the new relief package and there was a reference in there about the “19million unemployed” and how they need the pancake. That may have been the case months ago but today’s official ongoing jobless claims was 5,508,000. So is the government reporting false numbers, is ABC falsely reporting numbers on purpose to support some political stance or is it a case of just poor lazy journalism? In either case someone should be held accountable and please correct this mistake in future reporting on said topic. To get the official government number would take all of a couple minutes of research or just watch the numbers every Thursday at 8:30 am when they are released.
