Yay I have seen a few westerns though I detest the genre Surprisingly this one is a classic- a stunning piece of art With minimum shots depicting actual violence, Sergiius is able to achieve what all the sound and fury of Tarantino and Scorsese does not- an all consuming ominous atmosphere of awe and fear hovering all through the movie and a sense of impending doom.The slow and muted pace of action and staccato dialogues remind one of Hemingway Jag Mohan Singapore

Haunting thematic content; brilliant acting; minimalist effects; superb direction; restrained presentatation. A movie which will revolve like a film reel in your mind for a long, long period. In the hands of a lesser director and lesser heroine, it could have lapsed into a melodrama.
