An honest portrayal of the mlm experience without perpetuating the negative stereotypes, โYoung Royalsโ exceeded all expectations. Following a teenage Swedish prince sent to a prestigious boarding school, it is worlds apart from โEliteโ and โGossip Girlโ which Iโve seen it compared to, and I mean that in the most positive, affirming way. As much as the plot sounds like something out of a fairy tale, โYoung Royalsโ is grounded in reality. The many nuances sets it apart from its contemporaries. The realistic interactions between characters in person and on social media resemble many we might possibly have had through the course of our own lives. Perfectly cast, both, the diverse, age-appropriate actorsโ appearances and the acting felt natural. I didnโt think to question it for a second. The chemistry between the leads is palpable.
Most shows drag to a certain degree. In this case, six episodes felt limiting in the sense that the somewhat predictable tragedy struck too quickly, however, it drove the plot with much potential for a second season.
