This is probably one of the only historical kdramas that have kept their promise of being an actual comedy from the start to finish. Historical kdramas have never been something that I actively look out for (mainly because most of them focus heavily on the political conflict in the palace, and it's usually too infuriating for me to actually finish them lol) but this one in particular stood out to me because of their promise of being a comedy, and they fulfilled it through and through.
Now, the drama isn't going to be all fun and games all the time, because what's a historical drama without the higher-ups being corrupted and greedy for power? This drama also has those elements, but they manage to balance each episode with the serious and depressing story of the king and the hilarious story of the queen. So far, the drama is absolutely mindblowing at how they manage to make me laugh one moment then bawl right after.
I definitely recommend this drama for those who are looking for a laugh, a cry and warmth in their hearts.
