*Spoilers*
The Last of Us came out my freshman year of highschool, which had me SO excited for this release. Finally I could relive some amazing times in life with an amazing game. Nope. An hour in we watch the main character who we all loved be drug around and killed in the most anticlimactic way possible. Well at least we get to chase her down and give her what she deserves! Nope, not that either. Majority of the game is SPENT AS ABBY, THE PERSON WHO KILLED HIM. I spent the whole game ready to stop playing as her and get back to Ellie. The cut scenes and story telling from Abbys POV felt super drug out and felt like she was being forced onto us as if they were saying "yeah sorry we killed off the main guy, but heres why!". We don't care, we played as Joel when he killed her dad, we know why she was angry. Fast forward to the very end, we finally get our 'date' with her, finally going to be able to beat her down this time. HAHA NOPE AGAIN. Abby bites off a few of Ellies fingers, then Ellie returns home to her wife and child gone. So not only did Abby take Joel and a few friends, she haunted her life and literally ruined her family.
THAT IS WHAT WE WERE LEFT WITH AFTER 7 YEARS. Awful game.
