Terrible, boring movie, and dishonest advertising.
I saw the commercial for this movie, which clearly implied it was a typical Will Farrell comedy. Carefully selected scenes, and a narrator with a tone that clearly implied comedy. So they managed to pack me and a room full of unsuspecting movie goers on valentine's day, hoping to watch something everything fun, in the movie theater. Then the movie starts, and it's clearly a presumptuous artsy story, depressing, and without much of a real plot.
I can't blame Will Farrell. I know sometimes comedic actors like to prove they can act in dramatic films. No problem. But distributors shouldn't try to fool moviegoers. Clearly somebody decided, "Hey, we have a stinker in our hands, so we gotta figure out a way to make some money out of this". Then John from marketing says, "I know! Why don't we splash Will Farrel’s name, show a couple goofy scenes, and pretend it's a comedy". That's plain dishonest. I lost $20 and 2 hours, while John probably got a bonus.
