It may be weird for someone to write a review on a movie almost 100 years old, but this movie is special. A month ago I've never heard of it and I would have said "oh it's just some old war movie" but boy would I have been wrong. This movie even today was innovative in some of its shots from the opening with them on the swing to the later dog fight shots I still can't comprehend how they managed to do, this movie dives deeper than what war is like for the soldiers but how it affects relationships and builds new ones, the destruction it brings both physically and mentally. When I saw it was over 2 hours I was a bit skeptical but when I walked out I felt like it wasn't long enough. With all the incredible movies coming out and many more on the way this movie somehow still finds a way to stick to my mind from the phenomenal performances, to the toe curling suspense scenes, and the beautiful ending this movie may almost been lost in the sands of time but I hope makes an explosive comeback to warm and surprise the hearts of people today.
