Since I am a Naval Historian..the most horrific scene in the film is when Quint is telling a the true horror tragedy of Navy Cruiser INDIANAPOLIS being sunk by the Japanese in World War 2 and the survivors facing a grisly death in shark infested waters in the Pacific ocean.almost 1ooo men abandon their ship and fought gallantly to survive...forgotten by the Navy and when discovered and rescued ..only roughly on 300 survived..
