It brought up issues of gentrification, undocumented immigrants, exploitative labor of the working class (specifically latinx people), and racism, but it overall just wanted to make people feel good so it didn't really address any of them. I think Lin Manuel Miranda has an opportunity to really do something, and he doesn't.
If you are looking for a feel good movie, this will hit the spot. If you want to remain blissfully unaware of the issues that affect neighborhoods in NYC and other big cities across the U.S., this will briefly call the issues out and then allow you to remain comfortably in your seat.
