INTRIGUING....from the word go!
Gumraah has all the spices that make it a perfect edge-of-the-seat thriller. The crisp plot, eerie twists and turns, and shocking revelations keep you hooked for all the 2h 7m. Moreover, the director, Vardhan Ketkar, perfectly packs a fine dose of emotions into this edgy tale, making it even more lovable.
Performances are top-notch. Aditya Kapur lives the two characters (double role) with full conviction, especially when these characters are poles apart. Considering Gumraah and Malang, I think Aditya deserves more respect as an actor and I wish I see him more in such or a variety of roles.
Mrunal looks pretty and she as a cop, did a fine job. Ronit Roy again leaves his mark in a grey role.
The only aspect this film lacks is the melodious soundtrack, and probably that's the only reason it couldn't make any buzz at the time of its release, unlike Aditya Kapur's previous thriller, Malang. However, as a thriller, I personally don't like songs in a thriller, but as a fact, Gumraah has a love story involved, so a couple of punchy songs were requisite.
