Alright first of all, I wanna say that this is one of my favorite games of all time, I’m a huge fan of the Mirrors Edge franchise, and I’ve always been into parkour so it was something that came naturally to me. When I played catalyst for the first time, I thought the graphics were fantastic, they did an amazing job on the appearance of the game. However, I think that the game needed more. They made the games map free roam, but it wasn’t really free roam, because you went over the same places countless times, let alone how small it is. I found it a little disappointing in some areas.. When I opened the map for the first time and saw a huge world, I got excited thinking I got to explore all of it, but all I got was one little section of it. I think they should’ve used the same team who created the original game, because they know what went right and what went wrong. But they chose an entirely new team with no one from the last to help them out a little. I think it was a little weird how you had to unlock a few abilities, as they should just come as it is, but it was something to get to explore which was fun. I honestly think that a lot of people compare the first and second games, but they are both entirely different and have only two things in common, parkour, and Faith. I really hope someday the series gets rebooted. Fans need a new game, with both these teams learned from what went right and wrong, it could really be a game changer for the franchise if both got to work together. Onto the story, sometimes I thought it was a little bland honestly, a few characters were hard to connect with, like Nomad, Dogan, and Rebecca. Others were easier to connect with, like Icarus and Noah. I think the campaign was nicely made, with exceptions of the parts that make the story bland and cliche, it all came together nicely, aside from a few rushed parts. In my honest opinion though, this game shines a light on the world of parkour and needs to be more recognized. It’s a game that changes the combat style games in the industry, instead of going into the battlefield, you’re running from it. And it can sometimes be a tense, but amazing feeling, like someone’s actually chasing you, and it’s amazing how a game can bring that.
