Some of the storylines are refreshingly current, honest, and superbly acted: The Alzheimer's sorry featuring Dina Abbott (Marla Adams) is one example. The breast cancer story is another. Other stories need to be rescued from typical plots, imo. For example (esp. in this horrible time!), writers could bring in some long-lasting happy love, some true family joy with at home with children/pets, and even activities that promote healthy living. Heck, they could write up challenges people are facing and show ways to cope with them!
