I am bi polar, I actually have rapid cycling bi polar. I found Anne Hathaways portrayal of a person with bi polar disorder to be so inaccurate, I felt distressed that people would see it, and think that is my life. Firstly the cycling was so rapid, and so extreme, many bi polar suffers could have one episode, then years can pass. Plus especially the rise to mania, can take weeks to develop, and the come down is not instantaneous! I also was uncomfortable that the msnia was shown as a fun old time..... It is awful, it is terrifying, I have no control, black out whole periods, I have put myself in very dangerous situations, the hyper sexuality can lead to sex with very inappropriate partners. Bi polar is a different story for everyone. I just needed to say this.
