Just to start off, this is my favorite book I’ve read since Harry Potter. The novel has an interesting fantasy while keeping everything in touch with reality. Things Not Seen is not based in its own magical land, it is based in the normal city of Chicago. Every chapter is a new adventure. There is not a single part of the book that is not interesting (not even the beginning). I read this with a couple of my friends and about every 2 chapters we would meet up. Every time, we would be talking about the exciting, new thing that happened.
I also love the way the author writes. Clements writes in an almost reverse to what I’ve learned recently. He has this relatability in his writing that is how you would think in your mind. It is just not all formal and perfect as your teacher would tell you to write.
Things Not Seen is very relatable to teens because the characters are normal teenagers.
I am looking forward to reading Things Hopes For and Things That Are.
