Although it has occasional racy episodes, I find the theme and characters to be uniquely interesting and intriguing. Although Doc Martin has an abrasive personality his talent and skill as a Doctor makes up for it. I am not a chatty sort of person myself and I greatly admire professionals who are truly capable of performing capably and reliably - who wouldn't want a doctor like that? If you want a counselor or a psychiatrist then seek one of those. That, of course, is not the whole picture - after all it wouldn't be entertaining if so. The characters are so colorful, romance is rampant and the subplots are full of interesting episodes - the author must have had a unique sense of humor and understanding of human nature. He has done a marvelous job of creating wonderful storylines that i can't seem to get enough of. PapaEv, Tennessee
